MomMA and WA Dad sold their house, so last week my friend and I made a whirlwind trip to Washington to pick up some of my stuff they had been storing for me. The original goal was to get a hitch attached, rent a UHaul trailer and bring ALL my stuff back from storage. However, I got hit with an unexpected auto repair somewhere between Montana and Seattle, so I just brought back what I could fit in the back of my SUV, Bathilda. Here are some pictures from our trip. It was beautiful and the first time C. had been to the Northwest, the Pacific Ocean or up in the mountains.

JP and I put together a raised bed garden. I think it will be much better than the one in Seattle because there aren't as many monstrous weeds to contend with. We are growing several types of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, peas and some flowers. We enjoyed fireworks in honor of a rather nationally famous man who passed away this winter. He is from my hometown. Family from both sides came over for a campfire and to watch the display. Sunday, I went for a drive around the Refuge. The animals were very active. I saw geese, swans, ducks, loons, an osprey, an eagle, a beaver, turtles and a muskrat. Then we went fishing...of course. I loved every minute of all of it. My brother bought me the candle. He's the best.

Fun day on the lake. Mom was catching bass right and left. She finally had to wipe her forehead in exhaustion. We've had about three fish fries this week. Soooo delicious. They taste like potato chips. I finished my LAST paper for my degree. See? I was being good while everyone else fished. I brought my laptop with me and worked. Now I get to go fishing...FINALLY.
A "Before" picture of my tiny house
Being good and staying at my "outdoor office" while Mom and Dad go back out fishing
Icky, my unwilling study buddy. He hates the leash.
Perfect ending to a pretty perfect day
