Fried Green Tomatoes

My brother is growing quite a successful variety of plants in his containers. We have sunflowers, dahlias, hollyhocks, lilies, gladiolus, clematis, heather, chrysanthemums and rhododendrons. We have peas, beans, onions, green bell peppers, jalapeno peppers and tomatoes. We have cilantro and chives. I'm sure there is more that I'm forgetting but, the point is, there's a lot of stuff growing around our house right now. I love it. I am not a fan of tomatoes but I am a fan of the movie, "Fried Green Tomatoes," and they really know how to make fried green tomatoes look delicious at the ol' Whistle Stop Cafe....so, I told my brother that I had dibs on the first full-size tomato and I was going to pick it before it turned red. Last night, when I pulled into the driveway, I noticed there were several nice, plump, green ones for me to choose from so I picked the nearest, went in the house, dropped my school stuff on the floor and promptly set out to create the bestest, tastiest, yummiest fried green tomato I ever ate.

Don't be jealous. There are a few more to pick before they get ripe. If you come over to visit, I'll fry some up for us.
